As an SME trading below the threshold, we are not required to make a formal statement. However, we do recognise that many of our clients will be seeking reassurance from us about our compliance with the requirements of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Organisation Structure & Supply Chains
Veni Vidi Medical operates as a distributor of ophthalmic medical devices and services within the UK Healthcare sector. We maintain a small, dedicated team supporting hospitals and surgeons across the UK. Our supply chain includes manufacturers, logistics partners, and professional services firms. All product manufacturers are based in the EU and are subject to EU Modern Slavery policies. Additionally, we uphold an Approved Suppliers List, ensuring all suppliers meet our standards of integrity and compliance.
Policies in Relation to Slavery & Human Trafficking
While not legally required to provide a modern slavery statement due to our SME status, we are committed to high ethical standards and compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015. Modern slavery, including forced labour and human trafficking, is a serious violation of human rights. We uphold a zero-tolerance approach and are dedicated to improving our practices to prevent any forms of exploitation within our operations and supply chain.
Due Diligence Processes for Slavery & Human Trafficking
As part of our commitment, we conduct regular due diligence on all suppliers and business partners. We assess potential risks related to slavery and human trafficking and review these relationships annually. Our Approved Suppliers List includes only those who demonstrate high ethical standards, including compliance with relevant legislation.
Assessing and Managing Risks in Our Business & Supply Chain
We have identified relatively low risks of modern slavery within our business and supply chains, partly due to our engagement with reputable EU-based manufacturers who are governed by EU Modern Slavery policies. We select partners who demonstrate commitment to ethical business practices and regularly monitor their compliance to ensure alignment with the Modern Slavery Act. Any identified risks are promptly addressed, with adjustments to our supplier relationships as necessary.
Measuring Effectiveness
To ensure effectiveness in preventing modern slavery, we conduct annual assessments of our supplier relationships, reviewing compliance with ethical standards and relevant legislation. We measure our effectiveness through these audits and supplier evaluations, maintaining high standards across our supply chain.
Training & Capacity Building
We are committed to educating our staff on issues related to modern slavery and human trafficking. We provide relevant training as part of staff induction and periodic updates, ensuring our team is equipped to identify and address potential risks.
Designated Responsibility
The Director responsible for overseeing our compliance in this area is Francesca Parker-Boothroyd, who serves as the primary contact for any concerns regarding potential violations. Suppliers and partners are encouraged to report any concerns, ensuring transparency and accountability within our operations.
